Vote for Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum’s 2025 Webby Awards Nomination

On Tuesday, April 1st, the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) announced its 29th annual Webby Awards nominees, and Forum One is excited to announce that Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum: Becoming Visible has been nominated in the Websites and Mobile Sites category for a People’s Voice Award. Cast your vote now!

About the Webby Awards

According to The New York Times, the Webby Awards are “The Internet’s highest honor.” The awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) — a 2000+ member judging body. The Academy comprises leading internet experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities along with former Webby winners, nominees and other internet professionals.

Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum: Becoming Visible

The Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum (SAWHM) engaged Forum One to design and develop its first digital exhibition, “Becoming Visible: Bringing American Women’s History into Focus,” an immersive, multimedia storytelling experience narrated by actress Rosario Dawson.

Launched in March 2024 for International Women’s Day with a virtual event featuring First Lady Jill Biden and “Wonder Woman” actress Lynda Carter, “Becoming Visible” was not only the museum’s first digital exhibition, but its first-ever exhibition overall. For stakeholders, it served as a proof-of-concept that even without a physical museum or extensive collection of objects, SAWHM can deliver beautiful, engaging, digital-first stories that offer powerful visitor experiences.

Next Steps: Vote for the Webby People’s Voice Award

While the Webby Award is chosen by the Academy, the Webby People’s Voice Award is voted on by the public. Both awards are a mark of international distinction for Internet excellence, so we’d be grateful for your vote for Becoming Visible’s nomination for this award.

All Webby Winners will be announced later this month and honored at the 29th Annual Webby Awards hosted by Ilana Glazer in New York City on May 12th, 2025.
