Making Women’s History More Visible
This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the work that the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum does each and every day to bring women’s stories alive and into focus. We invite you to explore one of the initiatives we’ve been honored to be part of creating to expand access to women’s stories in our nation’s history.
The Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum’s headline program for Women’s History Month is “Becoming Visible,” an interactive digital exhibition launching on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2024. Forum One worked with the Museum to create the 10-minute digital experience, which will be available this Friday on the Museum’s website. The experience takes audiences on a visual and emotional journey through five women’s lives, inviting audiences into the work of the Museum that spotlights how women’s histories have been recorded, remembered, lost, and recovered.

About the Exhibition
Five remarkable stories of women from the past come to life through objects from the Smithsonian’s collection, archival records, recorded interviews, and original illustrations and animations. Curators narrate each of the five stories alongside an introduction narrated by actress, designer, and producer Rosario Dawson.
The exhibition demonstrates how women’s history is often obscured or forgotten—and the critical need to uncover these stories to create a more accurate and inclusive record of American history.
About the Museum
While the American Women’s History Museum is still in its early stages, it is already inspiring the next generation to create a more equitable world through new scholarship, diverse viewpoints, and innovative forms of exhibition, storytelling, and participation. These digital initiatives mark an important step as the Museum enters its next phase of planning and programming that will inform the collection and a physical site for the Museum in Washington, D.C.
Forum One is proud to support the Museum’s mission to understand our past better and inspire our future.
