Digital strategy and digital transformation for the education sector

Organizations in the education sector need to focus resources so that any technology investment is deliberate and strategic. At Forum One, we work with these organizations to deliver successful digital strategies that are flexible enough to accommodate technology and organizational changes, and specific enough to chart a clear course that the entire institution can follow. Forum One worked with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), using information collected through stakeholder surveys, interviews, workshops, and analytics assessments, to develop a strategic roadmap to move CASE to a digital-first strategy, beginning by redeveloping and redesigning their website with a focus on member experience. We continue to partner with CASE on branding, communications, marketing, advertising, and analytics to help them grow their impact.

Education sector data management and visualizations

We help organizations in the education sector present complex data in ways that allow audiences to explore, understand, share, and apply information to make smarter, data-driven decisions at all levels. We successfully employ digital data storytelling to share actionable data to strengthen and support communities. We also work with organizations to break down silos to unify and organize data so that leadership can make informed decisions to meet their goals. Faced with a massive set of data from multiple sources, the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) started working with Forum One in 2014 to transform its biannual Diversity Facts & Figures report into a robust digital tool that presents information in a useful and compelling context for its multiple audiences. We worked closely with the AAMC team to craft report content that is easy for key audiences to explore and share, and clearly communicates the story of the strides made in medical school diversity and the work yet to be done. We also designed and developed a longform experience in WordPress. 

Digital ecosystems and accessible web design and development in the education sector

We improve the effectiveness of education sector organizations’ overall digital ecosystems by managing digital properties as products, eliminating duplicative, competing, or poorly-performing channels, and adding new digital services for students and other audiences. Through in-depth discovery and research, we uncover issues around audiences, content, branding, data, and technical requirements that allow education-focused organizations to complete a digital transformation that delivers online content, services and resources through a cohesive digital ecosystem. Forum One partnered with Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to design a new central website showcasing vibrant colors, bold imagery, and a seamless user experience. This new design reflects the energy of the district and serves as a welcoming platform for multiple audiences. We then set to work adapting and extending the refreshed design and user-friendly information architecture to the 194 individual school websites. Each school can spin off a website that stays consistent and closely integrated with the latest updates from the FCPS central site while showcasing its unique school colors and content.
