AIDS Information Group

Collaboration and resource sharing are critical to an effective global response to the AIDS pandemic. Organizations need to be able to efficiently and effectively access information that will help to identify smart policy, to link policy and programs and to inform policy professionals and the public about key HIV/AIDS issues. Unfortunately, the current "information infrastructure" supporting and connecting AIDS programs is not strong enough.

In order to help groups working on this critical issue, Forum One Communications formed the AIDS Information Group (AIG). AIG aims to improve information capabilities in three ways:

  • Consulting: Technology strategy and development involving web sites, extranets, intranets, e-mail, databases, audience analysis, performance monitoring and other services. Example clients include the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative and the World Bank.

  • Networks: Design and management of cross-organizational network sites. Examples include the AIDS Media Center (Kaiser Family Foundation, UNAIDS, World Bank and others) and the International AIDS Economics Network (Ford Foundation, USAID, UNAIDS, and others).

  • Products: Information products including collaborative workspaces, blogs (such as AIDS Matters), knowledge bases (such as AIDS QA, newsletter applications, press centers, monitoring and evaluation systems and others.
