News ReleaseBrookings Institution Launches Middle East Youth Initiative SiteDecember 13, 2007 The Brookings Institution's Wolfensohn Center for Development, in partnership with the Dubai School of Government, launched the first web site for the Middle East Youth Initiative (MEYI) at www.shababinclusion.org. "Shabab" is the arabic word for "youth." The Middle East Youth Initiative (MEYI) is working to address issues of youth participation across the social, cultural, and economic sectors in the region, particularly in light of the area's population surge and current demographics -- 30 percent of the region's population is between the ages of 15 and 29. The challenges of providing meaningful employment opportunities for youth in the middle east was highlighted in a recent ABC News article, which quotes several regional experts, including the Dean of the Dubai School of Government. It also references the launch of the new web site. Forum One provided services for the new web site including online strategy, information architecture, design management, and CMS development.
