Challenge
To provide InterAction's members and affiliates with an online space to manage committee and working group activities, and to eliminate the problem of duplicate receipts of InterAction e-mail announcements.
Forum One Solution
InterAction's web site is home to an array of publicly available resources, news clips, and content from its 165+ organization membership. But InterAction had a need to provide its members with private collaborative spaces to give each of their many working groups and committees a home. Forum One Communications helped InterAction develop a customized work space with a very sophisticated mailing tool to reach hundreds of different group types by e-mail. The resulting framework now lets members:
- Share documents, contact information, and event details.
- Receive only one copy of a given e-mail announcement, where in the past multiple copies were common.
- Utilize an online home for important development activities in progress by committees and working groups.
Likewise, the tool allows InterAction staff to:
- Manage all member data (both private and shared).
- Filter names from a repository of over 10,000 subscribers and create unique e-mail lists that are automatically updated based upon list criteria.
- Share relevant content across all committee spaces and with the public web site.
One satisfied member is noted as saying that this is the best thing InterAction has ever done for its membership online.
