Challenge
How to connect project players from over 60 organizations involved in a USAID-funded Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) and disseminate a wealth of knowledge from around the world to inform and educate decisions and activities in private sector health.
Forum One Solution
Abt Associates asked Forum One Communications to lead its efforts to support the global community interested in increasing the role of the private sector in promoting better health. After creating a strategy and connecting team players with an intranet for daily collaboration, Forum One designed and built a public web site that serves as a gateway to a wide range of resources on private sector involvement in healthcare in developing countries. The site currently features documents, tools, leaders, news, events, and articles and will expand over the life of this 5-year project.
In addition, the PSP-One site serves as a networking hub for professionals working in this field, and provides a discussion forum where users can ask questions and find answers about current issues, activities, and research areas. Here are some of the steps we took to foster this vibrant community:
- Created a site built on best practices in professional networking
- Added a diverse Question and Answer tool that allows anyone working on this topic to ask or answer a question
- Developed a resource library that features the contributing organization and ranks documents by # of times downloaded by users
- Allowed for thought leaders to develop and expand their own unique spaces on the site
